ABOUT MAY

MAY was created to bring a more modern and internationally inspired Pilates experience to Gothenburg.

Inspired by contemporary movement culture, wellness and Scandinavian simplicity, MAY is designed to feel welcoming, elevated and deeply human.

More than just a place to work out, MAY was built to become part of your lifestyle. Somewhere movement, wellbeing and community naturally come together. A space to build strength, move with confidence, connect with your body and genuinely enjoy showing up.

Through Reformer Pilates, MAY combines challenging full-body movement with the benefits Pilates is known for, including deep core strength, improved posture, mobility and body awareness.

A place to move. To connect. To feel stronger.

MEET MALIN

Founder Malin Gustavsson spent eight years in New Zealand, where her love for Pilates grew into a career in movement and eventually the vision for MAY.

Malin first discovered Pilates through her own love of movement. What started as a workout quickly became something much more, a practice that changed the way she thought about strength, posture and the connection between body and mind.

That experience eventually led her to train through STOTT PILATES®, one of the most internationally recognised Pilates education methods and begin teaching Pilates in New Zealand in 2019. Over the years, teaching became as much about how movement makes people feel as what it can do physically.

Stronger. More confident. More connected to their bodies.

Living in New Zealand also shaped the vision for MAY. Years immersed in its movement, surf and wellness culture inspired an approach that feels relaxed yet intentional, with movement naturally woven into everyday life.

After more than a decade abroad, Malin returned home to Sweden, bringing with her years of international Pilates experience, a contemporary approach to movement and a belief that a studio can be about much more than the workout itself.

She wanted to create a space that felt modern. Welcoming. Community-driven. And deeply intentional.

That vision became MAY.
